Succeed will support the implementation of OSHA's new electronic reporting requirement as OSHA provides information on the technical requirements over the next several months.
Here is a link which summarizes the Federal OSHA rule and allows you to read the regulatory text if you desire. The new requirements take effect on August 10, 2016, with phased-in data submissions beginning on January 7, 2017.
Any state which has its own OSHA program will need to adopt this rule (by either meeting it explicitly or exceeding the requirements). Typically, state programs have an additional six months to develop their own requirements.
With this new regulation, injury information will be made publicly available depending upon an organization's size and industry. Employers with 250 or more employees "in high hazard industries" must submit OSHA forms 300, 300A, and 301, while establishments with 20-249 employees in similar "high hazard" industries must submit OSHA form 300A only.
The Succeed Risk Management CenterĀ® Incident Trackā¢ application already provides the record-keeping necessary to meet this requirement. We will develop a process which will allow for easy electronic reporting to OSHA, and provide more information over the next several months.
